A Story of Love, Family, and One Very Special Mini Bernedoodle and Her Golden Retriever Friends

Sometimes, life on the farm brings surprises that remind us how amazing and nurturing dogs can be. At Dura Puppies, every litter has a story, and this one might be our favorite yet.

On October 11, our sweet Mini Bernedoodle, Lola, made her entrance into the world. She’s a stunning tri-color girl with tan points, soft waves of fur, and a gentle spirit that’s already shining through. Lola is expected to grow to around 30-35 pounds, the perfect size for families Her mom is a loyal 75-pound Bernese Mountain Dog, and her dad weighs 12-pounds Mini Poodle, giving Lola the best of both worlds, intelligence, affection, and a beautiful low-shedding coat.

BUT LOLA ISN'T GROWING UP ALONE.....

Just a few days after she was born, we got a call from a good friend and trusted USDA-licensed breeder nearby. His English Cream Golden Retriever had given birth to a

huge litter, 14 puppies! As you can imagine, that’s a lot of babies for one mama dog to handle. He still had 12 puppies in need of extra care, so we offered to help.

We had a brand-new mama here with only one puppy, Lola. So we came up with an idea! We sprinkled all the puppies with baby powder to make sure they smelled the same, and one by one, we gently introduced them to Lola’s mom. Within minutes, her motherly instincts kicked in, and she welcomed each little one as if they had been hers all along.

It was one of those heartwarming moments that reminds you just how much love animals are capable of showing.

Since then, Lola and her “adopted” Golden Retriever siblings have thrived together, rolling around, snuggling, and growing fast. The Golden pups will go back to their original breeder, where three of their littermates are still with their biological mom. But for a few precious weeks, they’ve all been one big happy family here at Dura Puppies.

As for Lola, she’s is available and will be ready to go to her forever home in December. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of personality, the perfect companion for a family who’s ready to share lots of love (and maybe a few snuggles on the couch).
